DONE: TetView Fails to Compile

Postby dekiefer » Mon Jul 26, 2010 7:03 am

I tried to compile TetView to determine how to link Object-C with Objective-Basic. The compilation errors out when it encounters "c>, <c, h>, and <h". Does this mean we can't link to Object-C anymore? Is there a compilable example other than TetView or GreatApp that demonstrates linking to Objective-C?

Udo,

Thanks for the interest.

TetView is included as a part of the XT example 1 at: http://www.objective-basic.com/example.html#x1

I copied the code from this into a new project's Global window and tried to compile it. I had to comment out the // comments before it was able to run into the 'c>, <c, h>, and <h'.

I downloaded the source code reference with the 'here' statement, but OB claims it's not a valid OB Project when I went to open it.

My point is/was that the 'c>, <c, h>, and <h' don't work as advertised, i.e, they don't take you into C.

Am I missing something that will enable 'c>, <c, h>, and <h' to work?

Thanks again,

Duane

Duane,

I will have a closer look in the evening (central time europe), but from a first peek I would say, this is created for an earlier version of Objective Basic (Bernd has to comment on this). I don't think that it will compile with the current version (as you discovered).

Kind regards
Udo

Udo,

Thanks for looking. I'll play around with your routine 'huhn02' to see if I can understand how to use the result.

Thanks again.

The example won't work without modification with the current objb version. It has been build for the 2006 release.
<h and <c are not supported in the current version.

It looks like I need to remove old webpages though they are not linked anymore.
Sorry for the confusions.
