Does the update period of 12 months start already during the beta stage of Objective Basic ?
Would it not be more attractive to have it start not earlier than the first official release, to
make it more attractive to support its development e.g. by placing rather early orders ?

I think you are right. I am happy about any user, which buys a license, which supports the project.
As with KBasic - the other project I am running- for several years, the old KBasic license are still valid even it is official claimed.
When I have some time, I will change the information.
